Trimma

Trimma tevegae

Cohen & Davis, 1969

Blue-striped Cave Goby

Likely Reef Tank Suitable

Likely Fish-Only Tank Suitable

Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Southern Japan south to Papua New Guinea, and east to Western Australia.

Size: 2 inches (4 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits caves and crevices on outer reef drop-offs and usually found at depths between 30 to 150 feet (10 - 45 m) where it feeds on zooplankton.

General Husbandry: Rarely seen in the trade having a reddish-brown body with a pale blue lengthwise line

Can be maintained in small/nano reef or fish-only aquariums having various rocky crevices to hide, as those in this genus are quite secretive, until food inters the aquarium.

Should not be housed with aggressive fishes such as groupers, dottybacks, triggerfishes or aggressive angelfishes.
