Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Red Sea to South Africa and north to Japan, and south to New South Wales and Lord Howe Islands.
Size: 30 inches (75 cm)
Natural Environment: Inhabits coral reef waters with adults found in deeper water and juveniles in shallow tidepools, at various depths between 3 – 1000 feet (1 – 300 m) where they feed on small fishes and crustaceans.
General Husbandry: Has a light tan body with blotches of darker brown. Not collected for the trade.
