Range: Western Atlantic Ocean: Gulf of Mexico, Caribbean, and south San Paulo, to Brazil.

Size: 40 inches (100 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits rocky and coral reefs with juveniles near turtle grass beds and adults in deeper muddy bottom areas, and is found at depths between 6 – 400 feet (2 – 120 m) where it feeds on small fishes and crustaceans.

General Husbandry: Has a light tan body with numerous small to large brown patches, with the outer portion of the pectoral fin bright yellow. Not collected for the trade.
