Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Red Sea and East Africa to Line Islands, north to Yaeyama and Wake Islands, south to the Great Barrier Reef and New Caledonia.

Size: 52 inches (130 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits clear outer lagoons and seaward reefs and usually found at depths between 3 – 130 feet (1 – 40 m) where it feeds on shellfishes, benthic algae and live corals. Sleeps in caves or shipwrecks at night.

General Husbandry: Has a humphead, unlike other parrotfishes, and is an overall light green. Not collected for the trade.

FYI: Unsuitable for home aquariums due to its physical size, yet often seen in pubic aquariums.
