Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: East Africa to the Revillagigedo and Galapagos Islands.

Size: 20 inches (50 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits lagoons and subtidal reef flats and usually found at depths between 3 – 200 feet (1 – 60 m) where it feeds on shellfishes, encrusting algae and live stony corals.

General Husbandry: Has an overall greyish brown body. Not purposely collected for the home hobby trade.
