Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Indonesia to Somoa, north to Southern Japan, and south to Great Barrier Reef.

Size: 16 inches (40 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits protected inner and outer coral rich reef areas and usually found at depths between 3 – 85 feet (1 – 25 m) where it feeds mainly on algae.

General Husbandry: Males tend to be a darkish green with a blue snout and a band behind the eye, with its initial phase yellow with a grey head and three grey bars on its back. Females an overall pale brown with three saddle-like dark bars on the mid upper body. Not purposely collected for the trade.
