Range: Western Indian Ocean: Mozambique, Seychelles, and Mauritius.

Size: 24 inches (60 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits steep outer reef areas rich in coral growth and usually found at depths between 10 – 50 feet (3 – 15 m) where it feeds mainly on algae.

General Husbandry: Colors vary between sexes and its stage of growth (phase). Not collected for the trade.
