Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: East Africa to Line and Society Islands, north to Southern Japan, and south to Shark Bay and the Great Barrier Reef.

Size: 18 inches (45 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits protected lagoons and outer reef areas and usually found at depths between 3 – 100 feet (1 – 30 m) where it feeds mainly on algae.

General Husbandry: Colors vary between sexes and its stage of growth (phase). Not collected for the trade.
