Range: Indo-West Pacific: Red Sea, and coast of East Africa to Marshall Islands and Fiji, south to northern Australia, and also the eastern Atlantic: Senegal, Guinea, and Cote d'Ivoire.

Size: 57 inches (147 cm) Width

Natural Environment: Inhabits continental shelf areas, and also lagoons and outer reef slopes and sandy tidal flats, and often found in caves and usually found at depths between 50 to 700 feet (15 - 210 m) where it feeds on small fishes and exposed invertebrates.

General Husbandry: Not collected for the trade.
