Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Red Sea and East Africa to French Polynesia, north to Southern Japan, and south to Queensland, Australia.

Size: 14 inches (35 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits sandy and rubble areas on reef flats and in shallow lagoons, and also found in tidepools. Usually found at depths between 3 to 80 feet (1 – 25 m) and basically feeds on small fishes and crustaceans.

General Husbandry: Has mottled reddish body. Not purposely collected for the trade.
