Range: Eastern Indian Ocean: Endemic to southern Australia.

Size: 14 inches (35 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits areas over sandy patches close to reefs with kelp, and feeds on minute crustaceans.

General Husbandry: A highly protected species and even public aquariums must have a permit to import them.

Not collected for the home aquarium trade.

Has a temperature range of 56 - 65°F (14 – 18°C).
