Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Red Sea and East Africa to New Caledonia, north to Southern Japan, south to Fiji, New South Wales, Australia, also recently found in Tonga.

Size: 11.3 feet (345 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits lagoon patch reefs, inshore areas, and intertidal zones and usually found at depths between 3 to 300 feet (1 - 90 m) where it feeds on small fishes, shrimp, worms, crabs urchins, and other crustaceans.
