Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Persian Gulf, Red Sea, and East Africa to Tuamotu Islands, north to Southern Japan and south to Australia.
Size: 10 feet (304 cm)
Natural Environment: Inhabits lagoon patch reefs, reef faces, channels, and rests in caves during the day and usually found at depths between 15 to 100 feet (5 - 30 m) where it feeds on small fishes, shrimp, worms, crabs urchins, and other crustaceans.
