Range: Indian Ocean: Red Sea, Persian Gulf, Gulf of Oman, East Africa, Madagascar, Andaman Islands.

Size: 12 inches (30 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits inshore coral reefs over sandy bottoms and usually found at depths between 3 - 65 feet (1 - 20 m) where it feeds upon small fishes and benthic invertebrates.

General Husbandry: Not collected for the trade.
