Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Red Sea and East Africa to the western Pacific Ocean.

Size: 10 inches (25 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits sandy bottoms in protected lagoons and usually found at depths between 6 – 100 feet (2 – 30 m) where it feeds where it feeds on hard shelled prey.

General Husbandry: Not normally collected for the trade.

Those in this genus need very deep sand beds to dive into if frightened, or they will injure themselves greatly!
