Range: Western Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico.

Natural Environment: Inhabits shallow sandy areas in bays and lagoons experiencing gentle flows.

General Husbandry: This pretty calcareous alga is rarely seen in the trade, and when available needs placement in bright areas receiving gentle flows. As with other algae of this type, calcium and alkalinity needs to be monitored closely and if possible maintained slightly above that found in NSW.
