Range: Circumtropical

Natural Environment: Inhabits rocky intertidal areas and forms mat-like growths.

Aquarium Suitability: This wiry type turf algae likes bright light, very good water movement, and a nutrient rich environment. Its best to remove this nuisance species on anything that might enter the aquarium, as it may spread and crowd out other desired growths in the aquarium. A difficult species to eradicate once it gets a foothold in the aquarium.
