Likely Fish-Only Tank Suitable

Range: Circumtropical/sub-tropical.

Natural Environment: Found in the intertidal zone on hard substrates/covering exposed rock surfaces in tidepools and found up to 100 feet deep.

Aquarium Suitability: Rarely seen in the trade, however a very nice alga if available. Seems to do well under all types of lighting and intensities, yet does better where currents keep it washed clean of any accumulating detritus.

Taxonomy:

    Kingdom: Plantae

    Phylum: Rhodophyta

    Class: Florideophyceae

    Order: Corallinales

    Family: Corallinaceae
