Range: Circumtropical

Natural Environment: Inhabits shaded rocky intertidal areas such as caves and holes.

Aquarium Suitability: Occasionally live rock or coal rubble containing this species alga shows up in the trade, and would make for a very nice addition to almost any type reef aquarium. Requires little light, and moderate currents to remain healthy, and will slowly encompasses open substrate areas adjacent to the specimen.
