Range: Worldwide in coastal and estuarine areas of the tropics and subtropics.

Aquarium Suitability: Can live as a terrestrial plant, as its found at higher tidal elevations than the Red Mangrove. Able to take up seawater through its roots, but excretes excess salt through pores, or salt glands, located on the surface of leaves. Not a home aquarium species.
