Range: Native to the coasts of western Africa from Senegal to Cameroon, the Atlantic coast of the Americas from Bermuda, Florida, the Bahamas, Mexico, the Caribbean, and south to Brazil; and on the Pacific coast of the Americas from Mexico to northwestern Peru, including the Galapagos.
Aquarium Suitability: Lives at higher tidal elevations than the Red Mangrove. The White Mangrove is also able to take up seawater through its roots, but excretes excess salt through pores or salt glands, which are located on the surface of leaves. Not a home aquarium species.
