Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: West Africa to Indonesia and Southern Japan.

Natural Environment: Inhabits shallow crevices in rocky reefs swept by strong water movement and seen at very shallow depths, e.g., 3 to 10 feet (1 -3 m).

General Husbandry: Extremely rare in the trade and per Julian Sprung, generally has sand grains trapped in the tissue and should be feed baby brine shrimp and provided moderate to strong lighting.

FYI: Further investigation into this species shows that even though containing zooxanthellae, the species tends to prefer slightly shaded areas in the wild, therefore, hand feeding baby brine shrimp several times weekly is highly recommended until more information about their nutritional needs becomes available as of this date (2017).
