Natural Environment: Inhabits tidepools and shaded vertical rock walls to considerable depths, i.e., over 300 feet (90 m).

Aquarium Suitability: Not collected for the trade.

FYI: Unsuitable for tropical home aquariums.

Requires cool water and hand feeding, e.g., raw fish pieces, shrimp, and is especially fond of mussel flesh. Two to three feedings per month suffices in cold water environments.

Has a temperature range of 59 to 68°F (15 - 20°C).
