Range: Western Atlantic Ocean: Florida, Caribbean, and the Bahamas.

Natural Environment: Inhabits isolated patch reefs and fore-reef slopes and can attain 5 foot (1.5 m) heights and usually seen in depths down to about 150 feet (45 m).

Aquarium Suitability: Not normally collected for the trade.

Yet in aquaria, would require bright light for its photosynthetic algae, excellent water movement, and zooplankton feedings. Would be a difficult species to maintain long term.
