Range: Western Atlantic Ocean: Florida, Gulf of Mexico, and the Caribbean.
Size: 10 inches (25 cm)
Natural Environment: Lives singly attached to rocks in seagrass beds or under reef ledges at depths between 3 to 100 feet (1 - 30 m) and normally harbors commensal shrimp such as Periclimenes and Thor species.
Aquarium Suitability: Has a temperature range of 72 to 82°F (22 - 27°C). Provide bright light and several meaty feedings per week. Easy to care for, yet has a powerful sting (both to your skin and that of corals) - use caution in reef aquariums.
