Range: Western Atlantic Ocean: Florida, Bahamas and Caribbean.

Natural Environment: Inhabits sandy, muddy and fine gravel/coral rubble bottom areas from depths of 15 to 65 feet (5 - 20 m).

General Husbandry: Basically a nocturnal creature coming out to feed on zooplankton in the evening hours. Has a disc size of about 1 to 2 inches (3 cm).

If being maintained in aquaria, should be fed during evening hours very small pieces of fish, clam, mussel, and/or squid once to twice a week. If food is rejected, wait a few days before trying again.

Capable of eating small fishes and shrimp.
