Range: Indian Ocean: Sri Lanka and southern India to the Gulf of Oman and Strait of Hormuz.
Size: 4 inches (10 cm)
Natural Environment: Inhabits holes and crevices in rocky reef areas having accumulations of rubble and is usually found between depths of 30 to 100 feet (10 – 30 m) where it feeds on smaller fishes and crustaceans.
General Husbandry: Has a pale yellowish body with numerous dark dots mainly on the upper body. Not normally collected for the trade.
