Likely Fish-Only Tank Suitable

Range: Western Pacific Ocean: Norfolk Island, Micronesia, and Cook Islands.

Natural Environment: Inhabits upper reef slopes in lagoons and usually seen at depths between 3 to 65 feet (1 - 20 m).

General Husbandry: See Acropora abrolhosensis for suggested aquarium husbandry, except for swifter water movement - WM 3.

Taxonomy:

    Kingdom: Animalia

    Phylum: Cnidaria

    Class: Anthozoa

    Subclass: Hexacorallia

    Order: Scleractinia

    Family: Acroporidae

    Genus: Acropora

FYI: Has thick, stubby rounded corallites that grow in clumps of finger-like braches and are usually cream or yellow in the wild.

If cultured specimens have intense colors, ask under what conditions it was grown in, so you may continue to see it maintain its health/colors.

Maricultured specimens often have an overlaying green iridescence.
