Likely Fish-Only Tank Suitable
Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Widespread.
Natural Environment: Inhabits reef slopes and lagoons and usually seen at depths between 15 - 50 feet (5 - 15 m).
General Husbandry: See Acropora abrolhosensis for suggested aquarium husbandry, except for swifter water movement - WM 3 and brighter light, PAR 450+ for brightly colored cultured specimens.
Taxonomy:
Kingdom: Animalia
Phylum: Cnidaria
Class: Anthozoa
Subclass: Hexacorallia
Order: Scleractinia
Family: Acroporidae
Genus: Acropora
FYI: Exhibits a branching growth, and mostly brown or tan, yet sometimes blue, with pale branch tips in the wild. A very fast grower in many of my aquariums.
Cultured brightly colored specimens are available; therefore ask under what PAR conditions it was grown in, so you may continue to see it maintain its health/colors!
