Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Bali, Indonesia, and Philippines where it is (Uncommon).

Natural Environment: Inhabits protected reef slopes and lagoons and usually seen at depths between 50 to 100 feet (15 - 30 m).

FYI: In the wild has flat-like plates that can exceed 3 feet (1 m) in width and are usually greyish brown or pink.

Very rarely seen in the trade and if so, a Maricultured specimen.

Cultured specimens exist in the trade that exhibit bright colors, therefore ask under what PAR conditions it was grown in, so you may continue to see it maintain its health/colors!
