Range: North Atlantic Ocean: British Isles and Mediterranean.

Natural Environment: Inhabits sheltered shaded areas, usually in caves and under overhangs and on rocky surfaces and is seen down to depths reaching 150 feet (45 m).

Aquarium Suitability: Unsuitable for tropical home aquariums.
