Range: Western Indian Ocean: Gulf of Aden and southeastern Arabian Peninsula, and from the Persian Gulf to Pakistan.

Size: 3 inches (7 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits crevices and holes on shallow inshore reefs and is usually found between depths of 3 to 25 feet (1 – 8 m) where it feeds on smaller fishes and crustaceans.

General Husbandry: Has a dull overall greyish black body with a yellow tail. Not collected for the trade.
