Range: Western and Central Pacific Ocean, and also reported along the western coast of Mexico.

Natural Environment: Inhabits exposed reef fronts where current is strong and is seen at depths between 15 to 30 feet (5 - 10 m).

Aquarium Suitability: Not purposely collected for the trade.
