Range: Western and Central Pacific Ocean, and also reported along the western coast of Mexico.

Natural Environment: Inhabits shallow reef areas where there is rapid water movement and is seen at depths between 3 to 85 feet (1 - 25 m).

Aquarium Suitability: Not purposely collected for the trade.
