Range: Western Indian Ocean: Endemic to the Red Sea.

Size: 4 inches (10 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits small isolated rocks and corals on sandy bottom areas on inshore reefs and is usually found between depths of 30 to 150 feet (10 – 45 m) where it feeds on smaller fishes and crustaceans.

General Husbandry: Has a whitish-grey body with the upper area a dark grey, and a pale yellow tail. Not purposely collected for the trade.

FYI: Even though an occasional specimen will show up in the trade, as of mid 2016, no home aquarium husbandry seems to exist for this species.
