Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: East Africa to the Marshall Islands.

Size: 1 inch (2.5 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits intertidal zones and rubble zones, and usually found under dead coral.

General Husbandry: Occasionally seen in the trade.

These are basically detritus consumers, yet would not trust them in the same tank with very small shrimp. They sometimes put very small anemones on their claws and wave them at approaching enemies, hence the name "Boxer Crab."
