Range: Pacific Ocean: Capricorn Group of the Great Barrier Reef, Lord Howe, Norfolk, Kermadec, Cook, Austral and Easter Islands; also from the Pitcairn Group.

Size: 6 inches (15 cm)

Natural Environment: Found in shallow coastal coral and rocky reefs and usually seen at depths between 3 – 30 feet (1 – 10 m) where it feeds on filamentous algae, various protozoan, and detritus.

General Husbandry: Not normally collected for the trade.

Aquarium Suitability: Can be aggressive, especially in smaller aquariums
