Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Red Sea to Southern Japan and south to the Marshall Islands and Great Barrier Reef.

Natural Environment: Inhabits shallow back reef environments where it lives in crevices and is seen at depths between 3 - 50 feet (1 - 15 m).
General Husbandry: Has widely spaced rows of flutes/scales. Mantle is usually a combination of brown, yellow, and green.
They are also filter feeders and almost constantly filter the water for small particulates. Small specimens, < 2 - 3 inches can be fed a phytoplankton or greenwater supplement at least three times per week, which may encourage their growth. Larger specimens will do extremely well without any additional feedings.
