Range: Western Pacific Ocean: New Caledonia and South China Sea.

Size: 10 inches (25 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits protected reef areas and hides during daytime and feeds on sponges, invertebrates, detritus, and dead animals at night.

Aquarium Suitability: Not collected for the home aquarium trade.

Should it become available in the trade, aquarium husbandry would be similar to Prionocidaris baculosa shown elsewhere in this section of the Species Library.
