Range: Indian Ocean: Madagascar and Eastern Africa to the Red Sea.

Size: 20 inches (50 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits sandy substrates along outer reef slopes and usually seen at depths between 65 - 130 feet (20 - 40 m).

Aquarium Suitability: Neither collected nor suitable for the home aquarium trade.

Ingests sand and feeds on the microorganisms and organic matter in the sand.
