Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Red Sea, South Africa, to China, Japan, and south to Australia.

Size: 6 inches (15 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits back reef muddy areas and usually seen at depths between 3 - 30 feet (1 - 10 m).

Aquarium Suitability: Not collected for the home aquarium trade.

Ingests sand and feeds on the microorganisms and organic matter in the sand.
