Range: Central Pacific Ocean: Hawaii to the Philippines and Australia.

Size: 12 inches (25 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabit sandy and rocky inner and outer reef bottom areas near heavy growths of coral and usually seen at depths to about 100 feet (30 m).

Aquarium Suitability: Not collected for the home aquarium trade.

Ingests sand and feeds on the microorganisms and organic matter in the sand.
