Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Eastern Africa and Madagascar to Japan, and south to Indonesia, Philippines, and Australia.

Size: 40 inches (100 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabit sandy and rubble areas on reef slopes, outer lagoons and usually seen at depths between 15 - 100 feet (5 - 30 m).

Aquarium Suitability: Not collected for the home aquarium trade.

Ingests sand and feeds on the microorganisms and organic matter in the sand.
