Range: Indo-West Pacific Ocean: Red Sea, Eastern Africa to Hawaiian Islands and possibly seen to the west coast of Mexico.

Size: 60 inches (150 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabit reef slopes and reef flats and spends its time mostly among bottom rubble and generally seen between the depths of 3 - 65 feet (1 - 20 m).

Aquarium Suitability: Not collected for the home aquarium trade.

Sticky to the touch and feeds on detritus and organic matter, which is sifted from the substrate.

Common in Hawaii.

Even though they do not contain any harmful toxins, they usually perish within a few months in most captive situations, as they cannot get a sufficient amount of food.
