Range: Eastern Pacific Ocean: California to Alaska and Atlantic Ocean: South Carolina northward to Canada and Denmark/France/British Isles.

Natural Environment: Grows in scattered clumps, dense beds or meadows on intertidal mud or detritus rich fine sand and generally seen in intertidal areas.

Aquarium Suitability: Unsuitable for home tropical aquariums.
