Range: Eastern Central Pacific: Hawaii, French Polynesia and Pitcairn Islands to Marshall, Mariana, Phoenix and Samoa Islands.
Size: 12 inches (30 cm)
Natural Environment: Inhabits shallow coral reefs and adjacent sandy areas at depths usually below 30 feet (10 m) and mainly feeds on worms, shrimp, small octopuses, crabs, snails, and small fishes.
General Husbandry: Somewhat unattractive/drab having a dark reddish body with two blackish vertical body bands and a white caudal peduncle.
