Range: Eastern Atlantic and Western Indian Ocean:Throughout the Mediterranean and from British Isles around the southern tip of Africa to southern Mozambique and Madagascar. Southwest Atlantic: Southeastern Brazil, Uruguay and Argentina.

Size: 60 inches (150 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits rocky bottom areas on coastal reefs and usually found at depths between 3 – 150 feet (1 – 45 m) where it feeds on small fishes and crustaceans.

General Husbandry: Has a mottled brown body with white patches. Not collected for the trade.
