Range: Western Atlantic Ocean: North Carolina, Bermuda, and northwestern Gulf of Mexico to Yucatan.

Size: 9 inches (23 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits deep reefs and usually found at depths between 85 – 600 feet (25– 180 m) where it feeds on smaller fishes and crustaceans.

General Husbandry: Not collected for the trade.
