Range: Western Atlantic Ocean: Southern Florida and Bahamas to northern South America.

Size: 6 inches (15 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits sandy bottoms in protected lagoons and usually found at depths between 30 – 100 feet (10 – 30 m) where it feeds on where it feeds on hard shelled prey.

General Husbandry: Not normally collected for the trade.

Those in this genus need very deep sand beds to dive into if frightened, or they will injure themselves greatly!
