Range: Western Indian Ocean: Gulf of Aqaba to the islands of the Western Indian Ocean as far south as Tulear, Madagascar; east to the Cargados Carajos shoals north of Mauritius.

Size: 2 inches (4 cm)

Natural Environment: Inhabits coral reef flats and rubble covered sandy bottoms and usually found at depths between 6 to 65 feet (2 - 20 m) where it feeds on zooplankton.

General Husbandry: Not collected for the trade.
